HENRY COUNTY ALUMNAE CHAPTER OF DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC. TO HOST INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

MCDONOUGH, GA – Henry County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in collaboration with Henry County Government, District Attorney Office, Solicitor General Office, the City Governments of Hampton, Locust Grove, McDonough and Stockbridge, UNICEF, Girls Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Alpha Delta Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Henry-Clayton Section of NCNW, HBCU-IMPACT, Lake Spivey Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, SAGE, and the New/Rock Chapter of TLOD with Top Teens of America, will host International Day of the Girl Child to bring awareness of a United Nations initiative with the theme “The girl I am, the change I lead - Girls on the frontlines of crisis”. The day will empower girls to shape their future and drive positive change. 


Henry County’s International Day of the Girl Child will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 262 Macon St, McDonough, GA

30253. The event is FREE and open to all girls and the public. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was established in January 1913, and Henry County Alumnae Chapter (HCAC) was chartered in December 2004. The mission of HCAC is to promote exemplary service that enriches Henry County Community based on Delta’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust to include: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement. 


Additionally, HCAC has delivered impactful programs for the community to include over $350,000 in college scholarships, hosted Voter Registration Drives, Candidates Forums, Southside Women In Business Expos, Jr. Tank, Educational Development Workshops and Health Fairs.
